Catholic High School ~ TACHS

Planning For High School:

Why Choose a Catholic High School?

Our 19 Catholic High Schools offer four-year of rigorous coursework to prepare the students for college.
Nearly 100 percent of our high school seniors graduate, compared to around 60 percent of New York City Public School students, and about 98 percent of our graduates go on to college.

How to Apply to a Catholic High School

For students in Grade 8:

Catholic High Schools in the Diocese of Brooklyn and Archdiocese of New York require applicants to take the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS).

The test is usually offered in Brooklyn and Queens on a Saturday in November, and registration is available online at the beginning of September. Before taking the test, students are asked to rank their top three Catholic High School choices. More information about registering for the TACHS test is available hereĀ www.tachsinfo.com.
